Boeing: The 737 Explained

Back To Work

The Boeing 737 is the best-selling aircraft in aviation history. Looking for fresh ways to market the latest release of the aircraft, Boeing tapped [wire] stone to deliver an industry-first marketing experience that would allow customers to view and understand the airplane without actually standing next to one. Our BIG idea: Create a virtual Boeing 737 that was just like the real thing, only easier to view close up and take on the road. We captured more than 20,000 frames of the aircraft and combined the image files to create a seamless, 17-gigapixel 360° view of the airplane with life-size detail. Using novel applications of the latest Microsoft technology, including Microsoft Deep Zoom, Touch and Azure, we transformed this high-resolution photographic representation into a realistic, interactive Boeing 737 experience that can be demonstrated on massive trade show screens, accessed on mobile devices and viewed anywhere in between.
